Placing a demand on God for what you need may seem a little bossy or out of line, but take a look at the scriptures that say we can, in a sense, place demands on God.

Mt 6:11 says, “Give us this day our daily bread.” This is part of the Lord’s Prayer.

Notice that it isn’t a question. It says, “Give us.”

It doesn’t ask, “Oh God, we don’t have enough to eat, WILL YOU PLEASE GIVE US something to eat so we don’t starve?”

No, that’s not what it says. It’s a demand. Now don’t get all upset, or get your self in a tizzy.

It’s not arrogant in the sense that you are forcing God to do something for you. You’re not big enough to force God to do anything! But it’s like a little kid who walks into the kitchen at dinner time and says, “Mom, I’m starving. I want something to eat.”

Would you slap your kid upside the head and say, ONLY if you beg me. Drop to your knees and beg me.

No! I don’t think so.

Cooking and providing your kids meals is just something a mom does for her family. And kids come to understand it’s part of the family dynamic. The parents take care of them and provide food to eat. It’s out of relationship that the parents take care of their kids.

And it’s out of this family dynamic that kids end up being bold enough to ask and require.

Now don’t get stuck on that word require.

The Bible says we can ask and require our needs to be met, because Gods promises are backed by the honor of his name.

Psalm 34:10 AMP:

The young lions lack food and suffer hunger, but they who seek (inquire of and require) the Lord [by right of their need and on the authority of His Word], none of them shall lack any beneficial thing.

Hebrews 4:16:

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

So don’t be shy…expect and even “require” God to meet your needs today. And like a loving Father, he’ll do just that.

What the f____!!!  Today I’m going to tell you about the power of the “F” word..

So what is it?

It’s not what you think…

Relax! The word is “FAITH“.

Most people say that they don’t have faith, but that’s simply NOT true..

Everyone has faith. The question is, what do you have faith in?

A sick person has faith that they are sick, a healthy person too has faith…that he is healthy.

Recently I’ve tried a focusing hack to ramp up my faith quickly.

Try this:

  • Set a 1-minute timer on your phone 3 x’s a day.
  • Focus on a single need at hand, such as conquering debt or strengthening a relationship.
  • For one minute, think ONLY about scriptures and statements that declare you can have your need met. And say them out-loud.This will help you to focus your faith where you need it to go.
  • When the 1 minute is up, regardless of what you’re doing, stop.
  • Go for a walk, go back to work, read a book, and other activities unrelated to your task.
  • After that, start again a few hours later. Rinse and repeat 3x’s a day.

Using this trick, I was able to boost my faith for the need I had in just 1 day!

Try it, I think you’ll be surprised with the results 🙂

Here’s to more faith…

…and seeing you get your needs met!

If you want to more help, I’ve got an audio message that’s called “Faith and Solid Shields” that will get your faith pumping. You can download it right here

Need a miracle? How bad? Does desperate describe you? Then you’re going to want to listen to this podcast so you can discover the mistake that may costing you your miracle.

On this week’s Christianity Made Easy Podcast, special guest Margarita (Maggie) Buckner reveals the cure to you miracle. Maggie shares the story of her battle with multiple diagnoses that crippled her physically, mentally, and emotionally; leaving her in a dark place with no way of escape.

Suicidal and despondent, she lost all hope. Hear how everything changed and what she did to get her breakthrough.

Can you relate? If you’ve been suffering from:

  • Disease or Illness
  • Broken Marriage
  • Post Traumatic Stress Syndrom
  • Financial collapse
  • Depression
  • Addiction
  • Lack of Self Confidence

This may be the key to your miracle. Listen below or in iTunes.

Don't confuse where your miracle tookHeart Check: Do you tweet and promote your church, pastor or spiritual leaders more than you promote Christ?

Yeah, I know, I’m probably going to get some interesting comments from this post. That’s cool. Bring it on. Because I want you to know…

If your heart for God is in the right place, your heart for your church will stay in in the right place.

So, let’s ask again. Do you tweet and promote your church, pastor or spiritual leaders more than you promote Christ?

If your answer is yes, than you may be doing so to earn brownie points with your leaders. Let me assure you…you don’t need brownie points. You don’t even need brownie points with God!

Here’s part of the problem…

We’ve developed a church culture that is focused on complimenting, praising, word affirming our leaders more than we compliment, praise, and affirm God. And we do it to show them honor, but is it really about honoring ourselves?

Hmm. Heart check once more. (I’ve been checking mine too over the last few weeks.)

How would that work?

Let’s consider the natural law at work that says: You will reap what you sow. (Yes, that’s in the Bible.)

Knowing that if you honor others – you will reap honor, I can’t help but wonder if you honor others with the motive of receiving honor for yourself.

So yep, I’m being bold and a little in your face right now. Can you handle this?

Are you honoring your leaders for the right reasons?

You’re smart. You’ve figured out that in order to be a person of authority you need to honor the authorities over you. So what’s your secret, hidden motive? …you want to be an authority figure who’s honored?

Why am I asking? Because I see the tweets people entrenched in church culture and church life write. They talk more about the leaders over them than they do about the God who saved them.

So here are a few thoughts from my heart to yours:

Don’t confuse your WHERE with your WHO.

  • You got saved at ______(insert name) Church, but it was God who saved you.
  • You’re marriage was restored at _________(insert name) Marriage Conference. But it was God who restored it.
  • You got fired up for God at __________’s camp or retreat, but it was the Holy Spirit that ignited that flame.
  • You may have been changed reading one of my books, but it was Jesus who did the job.

Don’t confuse where your miracle took place with WHO did it.

It’s all about Christ.

Yes, honor your church, pastor, and spiritual leaders with kudos, congrats, compliments, words of affirmations. But – honor Christ just as much – if not more. Cause, it’s really about HIM…He is the author and finisher of your faith.

How faithful do you think you have to be in order for God show you his faithfulness? Let me rock your world…you don’t need to be faithful at all. What?! Yes, God is faithful even when you’re not. Want proof?

Shocking Truth That Will Free You From Performing & Trying to Be Perfect:

IMG_4200You can be blessed by God’s goodness even when you’re not good!

Amen, sister!

Oh, you didn’t shout amen?!

Afraid it’s not true?

Afraid you’re pastor won’t agree?

Here’s how the Bible puts it, let’s see if you’ll believe God’s Word over the words of others…

Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

Romans 4:2-3

How was Abraham made righteous?

By his hard work? By his good deeds? By his honesty? Umm…that surely wouldn’t be the case. He lied that Sarah was his wife more than once!

He was made righteous by his FAITH in God. NOT his own faithfulness.

And how many sermons have you heard that have pitched the idea that complaining will keep you out of the promised land? Or that complaining will keep you from receiving the things God has for you?

As we know, the Israelites were major complainers and pains in God’s you-know-what!

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying “I have heard the complaints of the children of Israel. Speak to them, saying, ‘At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread. And you shall know that I am the Lord your God. – Exodus 16:11-12

Don’t ya love it? That’s a picture of pure grace! Here are the Israelites wining and complaining, not a bit grateful, yet God still supplies for them – giving them what they need to eat morning and night.

And He says, you’re going to know that I am the Lord your God. In other words, you’re going to know I’m taking care of you. I’m faithful, even though you’re not.

Even though they still had some complaining to do…

Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt? -Exodus 14:11

How gutsy is that? Yet, did God punish them for complaining? For having a cow? For maintaining a bad attitude?

No. In fact, he saved them in a spectacular way by opening up the Red Sea as an escape route. The Israelites totally blindsided their enemy as they were in hot pursuit of them.

After they crossed over to the other side of the Red Sea, they complained some more.

And a little more.

And a lot more.

Yet God still gave them miracles, provisions, and protection.

Did God withdraw his faithfulness to them? Keep them from receiving what they needed?

No, God even rained bread from heaven to feed them. In the midst of their murmuring God was good to them!

Want to know why God was faithful even though they weren’t?

Because all of these events occurred before  the Ten Commandments (the law) was given. This means the Israelites were living under grace. Living under grace is a beautiful thing.

It means that grace covered their sins, and gave them access to all of the blessings and provisions that they needed. All because of God’s goodness, not theirs.

God gave them everything they needed and more – not because they were good. But because God was.

And guess what? TODAY you are under the new covenant of gace and that means that God will be good to you and will favor you even if you complain, even if you’re not as thankful as you could be, even if you don’t serve like you could, or give to others like you could.

How cool is that? Aren’t you grateful?

I am.

I can’t do enough to deserve God’s blessings. Galatians 3:3 says, …Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?

Answer: No, you can’t be perfect enough in your flesh.

You can’t gain salvation through your goodness or your good works, so don’t think those things will buy you the blessings you need either. Look at what Paul wrote in Galatians 1:6-7:

I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ.

Want another piece of evidence that shows your works don’t count as faithfulness? Here’s Romans 4:5-8:

But people are declared righteous because of their faith, not because of their work.  King David spoke of this, describing the happiness of an undeserving sinner who is declared to be righteous:  “Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight.  Yes, what joy for those whose sin is no longer counted against them by the Lord. Romans 4:5-8

It’s about faith – not faithfulness (not works, not right living, not your sacrifice).

I’m so glad he is faithful even when I’m not.

If you’re in the same boat with me, leave a comment below and let us know you’re thankful for his grace. And share this post if it meant something to you. You’ve got friends who need to read it!

Want to be be a winner? Ahh, of course you do! But hey, it doesn’t matter how many times you’ve lost. Losing has nothing to do with winning. As long as you don’t stay stuck there in “lost-land” you’re going to move higher.

So what separates winners from losers?

In my mind, the dividing line is growing. Winners are in love with growing.

Highly successful people intentionally grow their minds because they get sick at the thought of being status quo. They salivate at opportunities to learn.

And losers? Losers give up. They lack motivation to go-for-it because they don’t know how to move forward. And not knowing how can put you into a hopeless state.

I’m emphatically and passionately a life long learner. I LOVE learning. It’s my favorite pastime. As I see it, the more I learn, the more I can help you and others. And of course, the bonus is that leaning ultimately helps me.

Last week I had the privilege to put myself in a mega-learning environment. By attending Dr. Dave Martin’s Ultimate Life Conference, I rubbed shoulders with multi-millionaires and some of the most brilliant business and
ministry minds on the planet. Business consultants, ministry leaders, and pastor-perenuers!

Ultimate Life Conference 2014

Not gonna lie, I’m still in over-load mode processing all the info that was thrown at me by these movers and shakers. As I process… join me, process with me, grow with me.

I’m sharing these info-bites with you to wet your appetite. I want you to hunger for more in life. And to get there, you need to learn. So here are a few tidbits that will nourish the “world-changer” in you.

11 of my biggest take-a-ways from Ultimate Life Conference 2014:

  1. The stream that you drink from is the stream that you think from.  –Simon T. Bailey, author of Shift Your Brilliance. (I bought Simon’s book as soon as I got home – He IS brilliant.)
  2. That which has fed you in one season no longer feeds you. Individuals who know how to shift their brilliance do not usually follow conventional ways. –Simon T. Bailey, author of Shift Your Brilliance
  3. Most Christians already know what to believe but they don’t do what they believe, they need to be taught how to act out their beliefs, what to do. It s not until you do something that you really find out what you believe. Dr. Robb Thompson
  4. In life we decide our relationships. Then our relationships determine our destination. It’s people who determine where you go. Relationships will either promote you or stifle you. You’re the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. You will suffer the consequences and rewards of those closest to you. – Dr. Robb Thompson
  5. We go toward our focus. What we visualize is what we get.
You can’t avoid “a don’t do that” because it gives you an exact visual of what you don’t want to do.
(Freshman boys who practice seeing themselves swish the ball in the basket 100 times before they go to bed every night perform better – because they see themselves doing it in their mind before they ever see themselves do it on the court.)  –AmyK Huchens
  6. If you can’t explain what you do to a kindergartner, you don’t know it good enough..make it simpler. –AmyK Hutchens
  7. If money is not important to you that would explain it’s absence from your life! – Pat Mesiti
  8. What happens to people who have lots of money, and lose it? Their money grew, their mind didn’t. – Pat Meseti
  9. Never sell what you’re in a position to sow. – Dr. Dave Martin, author of 12 Traits of the Greats
  10. People who change the world start by changing themselves. – Dr. Dave Martin
  11. 10 things Donald trump does everyday comes from the book of proverbs. -Dr. Dave Martin

That’s a mixed bag of goodies but here’s what I want you to take from this post:

In order to grow your mind so you can be more and do more, you have to put yourself in an environment to receive more.

More Information + Different Setting = Better Ideas. – Dr. Linda Travelute

How you can put yourself in an environment so you can recieve more:

  • Read. Read. Read. (Leaders are readers!)
  • Attend conferences. (Put money aside each month so you can afford the big ones!)
  • Invest in yourself: Buy educational programs, personal development materials, coaching programs.
  • Get a mentor or a life-coach (By the way, I’d love to coach you, connect with me here.)
  • Watch educational videos. (Ted Talks are amazing, see them on Youtube. Get the TedTalk smart phone app.)
  • Spend time with people who think differently than you do. (As AmyK Hutchens says: “You need to agitate your thinking so you can think differently.” …so you can come up with new and better ideas.)

So what’s your action item today?

Get one of the books listed in this post and start reading or watch a Ted Talk. Leave a comment below and let us know what you’re going to do right away to grow your mind and your world!

I hope to see you at next year’s Ultimate Life Conference!
