If you need a Belief-Boost today, this one’s for you. There’s a great story that’s been told and it’s still one of the best showing how you can achieve and receive more than you ever thought possible if you will just do this one thing…

Boost your belief.

Roger Bannister

Roger Bannister

Roger Bannister was the first person to run a mile in under four minutes. Why is that such a big deal you say? Because back then, no one had ever made it happen. Back then, no one would dare believe it was possible. Back then, people were in the dark about what the human body was capable of.  No one believed it was doable.

But as soon as Roger did it, tons of others accomplished the same thing. Today, it’s no big deal. And it’s done by even high-school kids.

So, let me ask you…did the human body evolve making this possible?

Nope.

But belief’s did!

Let me give you something that can change your life. Write this down. Tape it to your forehead. (Kidding! But you could tape it to your mirror or computer screen.) Here ya go:

The size of your prayers are determined by the size of your belief. -Dr. Linda Travelute

Want proof? Try this on: “Anything is possible for those who believe.” Hey, a guy named Jesus came up with that one! Good stuff. That’s one to reprogram your brain with.

Here’s two questions for you to consider:

  1. Have you been receiving small answers to your prayers?
  2. If so, could it be because you’ve been praying small prayers?

Stop and think about it. What did you pray about yesterday? What was on your prayer list this past week?

Write it down.

Seriously, WRITE IT down.

I’m waiting…

Now take your pen and scribble a prayer that’s 10x’s bigger. Yeah, come on, go for it. God loves it when you stretch your prayers! He’s big enough to come through! Give it a whirl.

Ok, now think like Roger Bannister. It doesn’t matter if you know anyone who’s ever received the kind of thing you just wrote down. It doesn’t matter if you’ve ever seen God answer a prayer that big for you before.

Think like Roger did when he was about to tear down that track. He believed. He saw it in his mind. And because he boosted his belief, he boosted his results.

You can too!

Roger Bannister Crossing the Finish Line

Roger Bannister Crossing the Finish Line

It’s time to stretch your belief. Give it a boost. Your God is able to abundantly more than you can ask or imagine. With that in mind, boost your belief. And let’s just see what God can do.

If you’re no longer limiting him with your tiny belief system, he’s going to do more than you could ever dream. Just wait and see. And let me know how it goes!

As I was getting ready this morning my mind floated back to a care-free childhood. Ahhh, those were the days. Rest came easy. Not a care in the world. I had complete and total trust in my parents. They took care of my every need. I had a roof over my head, a really nice one (with biggest yard on the block!), nice clothes, plenty of toys, and lots of love from mom, dad, and my little bro. That was the life.

But then it ended.

It ended when I grew older and started “seeing”.

Seeing. It can cause us problems we didn’t have before we could see.

See what? See that my parents really didn’t have it all together. And that yes, there were times they walked through financial hardship and were smothered with stress. It’s just that as a kid, I had no clue. No clue meant it didn’t rock my little world. I continued to believe blindly therefore I was at rest.

Something happens when we begin to “see”. We stop believing in what the the Word of God says because we begin to “see” what circumstances say.

IRS: You owe the government money.

Word of God: God shall supply your every need. (See Phillipians 4:9)

Boss: You’ve made a mess out of this.

Word of God: Anything is possible for those who believe. (See Mark 9:23)

Doctor: You have an incurable illness.

Word of God: You have been healed. (see Isaiah 53:5)

Spouse: I don’t love you. I want a divorce.

Word of God: With God, anything is possible. (see Matthew 19:26)

Now, let’s connect this to my story. Regardless of my circumstances, I believed in my parent’s ability to provide for me and this gave me great peace. I went to bed every night completely confident that all was well. And it was simply because I believed.

Belief will help you rest easy.

It didn’t matter that my parents didn’t always have everything we needed. I believed they did, therefore I was able to rest.

There’s the key to resting like a child. Believe that you are taken care of and you will be at rest. It didn’t matter that they couldn’t always make ends meet. I thought they could. Therefore my reality was trust. And trust led to rest.

Now, imagine this scenario…

You really do have a heavenly father that has it all together. He owns everything on the planet. Nothing is out of his reach. He could slap a million bucks on you right now if he wanted to. There’s no need to worry. He has an unlimited supply.

So, then – we have a lot more to believe in, don’t we? Knowing God won’t fail us gives us even greater belief. And if you believe, you will rest. Rest in him. He really does have it all in the palm of his hand. You included.

The Word of God says: “Anything is possible for those who believe”. Not: “Anything is possible for those who see“. In fact sometimes the more you see, the less you believe.

Close your eyes.

Believe & you’ll rest.

The Key to Knowing If It’s God’s Will to Heal on Earth
Not sure if it’s God’s will to heal you or someone your praying for? Let me give you the key to knowing  if God will heal you and others on this earth. Read on. But take your blinders off!

I’ve had that question myself. I’ve seen people very close to me die of terminal illness. Friends and family. And even though we prayed long and hard for those people to be healed, in the back of our minds, many of us were thinking, is it God’s will to heal them?

I once believed God could heal, but wasn’t always totally sure he would. Know what I mean? Of course I believed God could heal, I’d seen him do miracles for other people. But I also saw others who didn’t get their healing. And this is why I began to wonder if it was ALWAYS God’s will to heal.

How Doubt Crept In
When I didn’t see my loved ones healed of terminal illness I even tried to rectify it in my mind like this: “It’s God’s will to heal, but it may not occur until a person gets to heaven. So yes, they will be healed, it just may not happen here on earth.” Man, did I miss it. Let me tell you what I have learned.

Like Healing, the Car I Gave Away May Not Have Been Received
At 14 I started working at Dunkin Donuts. I saved every penny I earned after I tithed and in a year and a half I had enough money to buy a car. Not just any car. A brand spanking new car. Yes, this 15-year-old gal bought herself – a brand new car – all by herself. I was so excited. I worked so very hard for that car. I went to high school by day and worked nights and weekends so I could pay for my car myself.

When I went to college I met a missionary from the Bahamas who desperately needed a car. At that time I was able to buy another car so I gave the missionary my first car. Again, that was so exciting for me. I gave him something I worked my butt off for. Completely bought and paid, I handed him the keys and we had it shipped to the Bahamas.

Now, how do you think it would have made me feel had that missionary called me up and said: “The car you gave me is here. It’s sitting on the dock. I have the keys, but I just don’t think it’s your will for me to have it”? I’d probably think the guy was brain dead. And not very grateful for what I had given him. I could have said:

Fool, I gave you that car. It’s paid for. I worked hard for it. Take it. It’s yours.

Besides, do you really want to keep walking everywhere?

Because he couldn’t believe that I gave that car free and clear, he didn’t receive it and make it his. If there would have been even the slightest bit of doubt that car had not already been given to him, he wouldn’t have received it.

For some, this is what we do with healing. Jesus already paid for it. He gave us the keys. Healing is ours if we will believe it belongs to us. But it’s our choice if we want to walk away without receiving it.

Look how the Bible shows healing is ours for the taking:

 Isaiah 53:5

But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. NLT

1 Peter 2:24

Christ carried our sins in his body on the cross so we would stop living for sin and start living for what is right. And you are healed because of his wounds. NCV

Note the healing is past tense. The healing has already been paid for. So when we slip into unbelief asking whether or not it’s God’s will to heal on earth it must make God scratch his head. I can imagine him saying, if I’ve already given you something my son paid for, why would you not believe I gave it to you?

It all boils down to believing it’s yours without any shadow of doubt.

James 1:6, 7 NCV

But when you ask God, you must believe and not doubt. Anyone who doubts is like a wave in the sea, blown up and down by the wind. Such doubters are thinking two different things at the same time, and they cannot decide about anything they do. They should not think they will receive anything from the Lord.

The Key to Knowing if it’s God’s will to heal on this earth is thisbelieve what his word says.

And don’t doubt it. If you doubt, you won’t believe it’s his will and you won’t receive healing.

If you do believe what Jesus already worked so hard and paid for, then you can take it. That’s when it will become real. It’s God’s desire for you and your loved ones to be healed on this earth. Don’t leave healing sitting on the dock when he’s given you the keys. It’s God’s will for you and your loved ones to be healed before you get to heaven.

When my daughter was a wee little girl I was looking for a way to explain the amount of love I had in my heart for her. Tucking her into bed one night I whispered, “Tiff, do you know how much I love you?” She said, “How much mommy?” Wrapping my arms around her I said, “Listen, I love you to the moon and back.” Her little eyes brightened and she said, “Really? That’s a lot of love!” So as the years passed I would occasionally ask her, “Tiff, do you know how much I love you?” Always smiling, she’d say, “to the moon and back.” Then I’d add: “to the moon and back – and back – and back!!!” She would say, “Wow Mom, that’s sooo much love”!

It was the coolest thing knowing that my daughter would go off to sleep savoring that nugget of truth. She’d be thinking about it and mulling it over in her little girl’s mind. And when I’d go out of town on business, I’d call her right before bedtime and before we’d hang up I’d always ask: “Tiff, do you know how much I love you?” She’d say so confidently: “you love me to the moon – and back – and back – and back!”

Amazed that she was wrapped so securely in my love, I once asked, “Well, how do you know that I love you that much?” She said, “because I heard you say it mom, and I know -that I know – that I know – that you love me that much.”

How is it that my now, adolescent daughter is so confident and secure in her Mom’s love? Because from the first time she heard me say it, she LISTENED with her ears wide open. She TOOK it in. She RECIEVED it. She’d THINK about it. She’d REVISIT it. She’d SAY it. She’d REPEAT it until she had great trust and BELIEF in it.

It dawned on me that there was a formula here in learning how to believe in something. I found it confirmed in God’s Word. Reading from Prov. 22:17 (AMP), the steps go like this:
“Listen (consent and submit) to the words of the wise, and apply your mind to my knowledge; For it will be pleasant if you keep them in your mind [believing them]; your lips will be accustomed to [confessing] them. So that your trust (belief, reliance, support, and confidence) may be in the Lord…”

If we break it down, look at how this formula unfolds.
1. Listen (hear what God says about you.)
2. Think about his words of wisdom (turn it over and over again in your mind).
3. Then you will begin to believe.
4. At last, you speak them (your lips get accustomed to confessing them – speaking them out loud.)
5. Wallah! You begin to trust what God says about you and your life. You grow more and more confident in what He says about you.

Listen, God’s whispering: “I love you so much, I sent my son to die for you and give you eternal life. I came that you might have life and have it more abundantly. I, (God) take great delight in you. Come away with me and read all about it. I wrote it all down just for you. The love letter is waiting to be opened and read and received by you. I love you to the moon and back!”

My advice to you, READ it, SPEAK it, BELIEVE it!
